At our public finance recruitment firm, we pride ourselves on a unique and highly personalized approach that sets us apart from traditional recruiting methods.

Our Process

At H. Friedman Search, we go beyond just matching resumes with job openings. Our focus is on you, the candidate, ensuring a personalized and transparent process that truly understands your career aspirations and goals. This ensures you find the perfect role that fits your career path. Here’s how our candidate process works:

  • Targeted Outreach: We spend 60% of our day sending specific position-oriented emails to individuals in our extensive database, currently over 10,000 strong.
  • Respect for Your Time: We don’t waste your time with cold calls. Instead, we connect with candidates who reach out to us through our website or respond to personalized emails.
  • 15-Minute Screening: We conduct a brief 15-minute conversation with anyone in the public finance field, from recent graduates to seasoned professionals, to determine if we can assist them.
  • Assessment: During this call, we evaluate their current situation and decide if we can move forward.
  • 45-Minute Drill Down: If we believe we can help, we schedule a detailed 45-minute interview where we ask hundreds of specific questions about their experience and qualifications.
  • Expert Evaluation: Our deep industry knowledge allows us to ask unique questions, ensuring we fully understand the candidate's book of business and career aspirations.

After assessing a candidate’s situation, one of the following outcomes will occur:

  • Best Possible Situation: We might determine that the candidate is already in the best possible situation and advise them to stay put.
  • Preparation Guidance: If they are not ready to make a move we provide specific steps to prepare them for future opportunities.
  • Ready for Introduction: If they are a good candidate for a move, we proceed with the next steps.
  • Selective Introduction: We introduce candidates to one client at a time, ensuring a focused and tailored approach.
  • One Question Focus: After the initial interview, we ask only one question: "Do you want to learn more?" This helps candidates focus on the most important aspect of the conversation.
  • Sequential Interviews: If both the candidate and client want to learn more, we proceed to the next interview stage. We do not introduce the candidate to multiple clients simultaneously to maintain exclusivity, focus and confidentiality.
  • Continuous Management: We manage the entire process, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for both parties.
  • Compensation Package: Before presenting any offers, we ensure that the compensation package meets the candidate's desires.
  • Offer Accepted: Our thorough understanding of both the client's and candidate's expectation of compensation results in a 95% offer acceptance rate and minimal counteroffer discussion.
  • Long-Term Success: Our unique process and deep industry expertise have led to an impressive track record of successful placements, with very few fallouts or mismatches.
