H. Friedman Search has a rich history in the public finance industry. Our founder, Harlan Friedman, graduated from college in 1978 and worked in insurance before becoming a bank manager while attending law school at night. He earned his law degree in 1983. In 1986, he began his career in public finance as an investment banker and later launched his own consulting business in 1988. After entering the recruiting field in 2011 at Armstrong Financial Group, Harlan founded H. Friedman Search in November of 2018, leveraging his finance and legal expertise to build a successful career.

From the very beginning, Harlan's unique perspective as a former banker and lawyer set us apart. He wasn't just filling positions; he was building careers. He understood the challenges and aspirations of public finance professionals because he had walked the same path.
